Hassan Alzein, M.D.

Dr. Hassan Alzein earned his medical degree at the University of Damascus in Damascus, Syria in September of 1988. He completed his residency in 1994 at the University of Illinois at Chicago and he is board certified in pediatrics. After completing his residency Dr. Alzein joined the staff at Midwestern University as a clinical instructor in Downers Grove and in Olympia Fields, IL from 1994-1996. He gained extensive experience over four years working as a hospitalist caring for critically ill children in Pediatric Intensive Care Units. During this time he also enjoyed providing care for children in the community through his offices located in Oak Lawn, IL and Evergreen Park, IL. He is now the Chairman of Pediatric Department at Little Company of Mary Hospital (LCMH) in Evergreen Park, IL, and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Consumer Research Counsil of America has also awarded “America’s Top Pediatrician” to Dr. Alzein in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. Dr. Alzein has clinical interest in newborn care, asthma, and allergic rhinitis. In his free time he enjoys traveling, music, reading, and spending time with his wife and children. |
Whitman Haro, M.D.

Dr. Withman Haro earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois in 2004, and finished his pediatric residency training at Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital, Oak Lawn in 2007. After residency he practiced pediatric medicine in the far western suburbs of Aurora and St. Charles for five years before coming back to the Oak Lawn area to join Alzein Pediatrics full time in July 2012. Dr. Haro has an interest in providing all around medical care for children, as well as ADHD management and asthma and allergy management. In his free time, Dr. Haro enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His 5yo son and 2yo daughter are his inspiration. Dr. Haro lives an active lifestyle, running and biking 5 or 6 times a week. Dr. Haro also enjoys cooking and watching cooking shows like Top Chef and Iron Chef. |
Melissa O'keefe, PA-C

Melissa O’Keefe received her nursing degree at St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1993 and then completed the Physician Assistant Program at Midwestern University in 1997. Mrs. O’Keefe has worked in Ingalls Hospital Emergency Department since 2000 and during that time she also taught physician assistant students at Midwestern University until 2002 and has worked for Alzein Medical since 2003. Mrs. O’Keefe joined Alzein Medical full time in July of 2009 and is still currently working at Ingalls Emergency Department. In her free time Mrs. O’Keefe enjoys spending time with her children, meeting with the Beverly Book Club, making crafts, being the troop leader for the 3rd grade girls at St. John Fisher School, and doing pilate and spinning at the Beverly Core Fitness Center. She says the best advice she can give to loose weight is to exercise! |
